Southern Patagonian Ice Field, Chile

“Out here the wind is the schedule. We move when it lets us, and rest when it doesn't.”
An 8-day, roped glacier traverse across a section of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field with two IFMGA guides.
From El Chaltén, approach via Marconi Pass, rope up onto the ice, and traverse pristine glacier terrain beneath Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. Days are 6-10 hours on ski or foot with sleds. Nights in mountain tents at wind-sheltered camps. Only 4 guests per trip. Weather windows are respected — the mountain decides.
